Group Design Reflection:
From this project I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge about team work and collaboration. The ability of collaboration is essential for me to become a competent architect when I graduate because the built industry is composed of numbers of multidisciplines. Listening and Accepting others' ideas are also important for my future career because I need to communicate not only with my colleagues but also my clients.
In order to produce a good design outcome, all the members in my team have worked extremely hard. We have very frequent meetings and discussions throughout the whole process. Each member has their own main tasks, according to their "field of expertise". However, that doesn't mean that we didnot communicate or help each other. We often lively discuss and demonstrate our ideas and designs, some times there are arguments but we can always find out the final solution or a better idea. I believe communication is the most important element in terms of teamwork, which can impede or improve the efficiency and quality of our work. Effective communication requires a lot of skills and knowledge. For example, in order to demonstrate our ideas better, we have adapted different ways of showing our designs such as ppt, pictures, drawings and sketches. The beginning of the process is usually hard as everyone has their own habits in design and study. But once we have worked out our outlines and workloads, and everyone respects each other's belief and ideas, the work has become more easy.
